From pilot project to complete mobility platform

Els Vanden Berghe, Managing Director: "I actually saw Olympus Mobility start years ago as a project that initially focused mainly on electric mobility.

So I already knew the name and was aware that the project had evolved into a platform focused on multimodality. I saw that Blue-bike was involved, along with other mobility providers, but until recently, it didn't carry enough weight for me (based on what I knew about it).

What I didn't know was the whole service offering around it and how big the range has become in the meantime, which suddenly took it out of the project sphere for me and turned it into a real platform that users can turn to for both work and private use."

An organization with an eye for efficient sustainability

“Ultimately, I saw its value because of how our organization works in several areas, such as commuting and business travel, efficient purchasing, and administrative processing, because the mobility options within the platform are really extensive and cover a lot of ground. What's more, the service is very well organized.”

"As an environmental organization, it is embedded in our DNA to be as sustainable as possible in our operations. That is why we have never used company cars and have always opted for radical solutions such as the train. On my initiative, we also took out Blue-bike subscriptions years ago and, at a certain point, also Cambio, an SNCB business account, etc. All this in an effort to be multimodal, including for business travel, and to be able to make efficient use of the various tools available."

Fewer tools, more mobility

"But it remained a puzzle. The systems were being used, but not to their full potential. It does take a bit of extra work to buy train tickets via app no. 1 and use a bike via app no. 2. One person buys a train ticket at the counter, another uses the business account. One person pays up front and then submits an expense report, etc. So there is no uniformity in use. The administrative processing of all the different subscriptions is also no laughing matter, both for the employees who use them and for the accounting staff who have to keep track of all the subscriptions, prepare statements, and create expense reports.

The Olympus app combines all of this. The administrative processing is smooth and it is very easy to use."
